Aiming to return the High Street as the Heart of Thornbury

Thornbury is an Historic Market Town in South Gloucestershire, England located between Bristol and Gloucester. Our residents have always enjoyed living in this lively town. However, the closure of the High Street has had a detrimental effect on the area.

Formed on 5th November 2021 this Residents Association aims to find the best solutions to revitalise Thornbury High Street, including the area and roads surrounding the Town Centre. We are always looking for more members to help us in this endeavour.

aim

To preserve and enhance the amenities and infrastructure of Thornbury and surrounding villages.

long term objectives

In the long term we want to ensure that the Town Council and South Gloucestershire Council actively engage with the community.

immediate objectives

The best solutions are fully explored and subsequently adopted in the revitalisation of Thornbury High Street.

25% of Thornbury residents are aged over 70 and the loss of a bus service in the High Street has had a huge impact on many of them, as has the loss of parking.
